Die Wärmeversorgung Damme GmbH betreibt seit November 2013 ein Blockheizkraftwerk (BHKW) in der Straße Nordhofe 1 in Damme. Hierüber wird derzeit das Schulzentrum in Damme mit Wärme versorgt. Als Brennstoff wird Biomethan eingesetzt, welches im Rahmen der Gasäquivalentnutzung über das öffentliche Erdgasnetz bezogen wird. Für die Versorgung in den Wintermonaten stehen zwei weitere Erdgaskessel bereit. Die Wärmeversorgung Damme GmbH beschafft hiermit die erforderliche Menge Biomethan zum Betrieb des BHKW.
